(The chart pops up in google if you want to know what I’m talking about lol, just not sure if I’m allowed to post it here) Did you try learning these additional points. For example, the timeline of causes of postoperative fever, you need to know the immediate causes (tissue trauma, blood transfusion, malignant hyperthermia) in order to answer questions but in the explanation theres a chart where it provides additional info like different culprits of surgical site infections (Group A strep, C perfringes) for acute phase and then the other culprits for subacute phase. Did you just learn the facts needed to get the question correct or also learn/memorize additional facts from the explanation that weren’t needed and don’t have UW questions pertaining to that information. Got it, thank you!! Another thing Im a bit confused about and wanted clarification if you don’t mind was about the notion “every word in UW is gold”. So much of this test is about having the confidence to just do it! It felt surprisingly similar to step 1 although I felt more pressed for time having to read through all the clinical vignettes. came out of the test feeling absolutely awful and wishing I had taken more time to study and actually go through all of UW, but it worked out. My studying was pretty haphazard (gave myself ~2 weeks of dedicated, only got through 1/3 of UW), and as you can see my scores varied a lot, though by week 1 I felt like much of my step 1 knowledge had come back and I began to fall into the pattern of recognizing what they were looking for. Uworld % correct: 67% (only did 1/3 of UW) US MD or US IMG or Non-US IMG status: US MD ![]()
